Nickel is silver magnetic metal,Nickel application and market Articles mainly for the production of stainless steel, high temperature alloy steel, high performance special alloys and NI-based spray materials. Nickel-containing alloys are mainly used in manufacturing aircraft, rockets, tanks, submarines, radar and various parts of Atomic Energy reactors. Nickel-cobalt alloy is important magnetic material. NI-based alloy used in manufacturing jet turbine, turbines, rolling mill rollers. Containing nickel structural steel, acid-resistant steel, heat resisting steel applied in the chemical, petroleum and machinery manufacturing. Stainless steel also widely used in commercial products and construction decoration.

Metal powder supplier said that as technology advances, nickel and nickel salts processing products rapidly development, widely used in petroleum catalysts, rechargeable batteries, plating materials and other fields. Added nickel to steel, can increase the mechanical strength. Very fine nickel powder often used as a catalyst in the chemical industry. There are also appear many alternatives, with chromium, vanadium and key instead of nickel in alloy steel, coated lead carbon steel instead of high-temperature alloy steel, resulting in nickel alloys show a declining trend.

Chinese nickel consumption structure was similar with other countries, the most application is steel smelting industry and nonferrous metals smelting industry, used for refining stainless steel, high temperature alloy steel, soft magnetic alloys and alloy structure steel, various nickel base alloy (with nickel chrome base alloy, aluminum nickel cobalt and other magnetic materials), the volume of metallurgical industry used nickel was accounted for about 65%-70% of China nickel consumption, wherein, the stainless steel consume most nickel. Light industry is also important nickel consumption industries in China, currently, bicycles, sewing machines, watches, medical facilities, daily life, many household appliances, lights, architectural ornament plating, need to consume a lot of nickel. China is a big bicycle producing country in the world, major parts of bike are need to plate nickel. Consumption of light industry almost accounts 12% of China's nickel consumption.

Chemical, oil, electricity and machinery manufacturing industry also the nickel consumption industry in China, large forging and casting parts, turbine, motor, fan, pump, acid-resistant container also requires large nickel, nickel alloys and nickel materials, those industries’ nickel consumption also account for about 10%-12% of Chinese nickel consumption. Recently appeared some nickel consumption industries, refinery catalyst, charging battery and high-tech material, the nickel consumption accounted for about 10% of Chinese nickel consumption, of which battery industry is an emerging nickel consumption area, nickel hydrogen battery, nickel pot battery and other nickel processing products needs constantly expanded, currently nickel powder, foam nickel, perforation plated nickel steel, activity hydrogen oxidation nickel and other products are demand exceeding supply, needs sharp increased.

In the 1990s, the world’s nickel production and consumption were relatively steady, modest growth, no ups and downs phenomenon. Global nickel mine production exceeded 1 million tons since 1996, reaching the highest levels of production. Nickel resource countries have: Russia, Canada, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Australia and Cuba, total mineral nickel output and exports accounts for about 80% of the total world. Nickel smelting was concentrated in Russia, Japan, Canada, Australia, Norway, China, New Caledonia, United Kingdom, South Africa and Finland.

Nickel production and sales in China are on the rise. Recently, electrolytic nickel and nickel concentrate production remains above 7% average annual rate of increase, growth is relatively high. But due to the excessive number of raw materials imported stainless steel and nickel influence, the average increment of electrolytic nickel consumption in China only achieved 2%.
